Rock stabilization works using gabions
This type of stabilization is used in areas prone to rockfalls, especially on mountain slopes, where 3 mm thick galvanized metal mesh baskets are placed. These baskets are filled with rocks of varying sizes, ranging from 15 to 40 cm, and the spaces between the rocks are then filled. The baskets are placed side by side and tied with wire mesh to form a single mass along the slope. Their height varies depending on the elevation of the mountain slope. The purpose is to prevent rockfalls while allowing floodwater to pass through.
